If you ask people what the top two first person shooter games in the world are, chances are that they’ll name off Call of Duty, and Battlefield. This Winter, when Battlefield 4 and CoD Ghosts come out, for the first time, EA thinks that Battlefield may indeed sell better than the CoD franchise. Both games are released very close to each other, with Battlefield 4 coming out on October 29th, and Call of Duty Ghosts coming out a week later, on the 5th of November.
Frank Gibeau, an employee at EA, has stated that Battlefield 3 did indeed outsell CoD in 2011 in a few select countries, and that EA believes that they can do much more than that this coming Winter.
Whether you’re a Battlefield or a CoD fan, you have to admit that this competition is definitely good for the gaming community. It will push both Activision and EA to work harder on the games to try and lure in more customers. The competition will lead to the games being better than ever, and that’s something gamers can live with.
